ConMed reports profit jump, beats revenue forecast

UTICA - ConMed Corporation (NASDAQ: CNMD) today reported that its second-quarter net income soared to $7.3 million, or 25 cents a share, from $1.4 million, or 5 cents, in the year-ago period.

UTICA — Sister M. Johanna DeLelys retired as president and CEO of St. Elizabeth Medical Center on July 16 after six-plus years, and the hospital has begun the search for her replacement.


Rome Memorial CEO to step down, successor chosen

Rome Memorial Hospital President and CEO Darlene Burns will retire on Dec. 31 after working at the facility in various capacities for nearly 40 years, the hospital announced Friday.

The Rome Memorial board of directors selected Basil Ariglio, the hospital's senior vice president and chief operating officer, as Burns' successor.


Earnings dip at Oneida Financial

Second-quarter earnings were down at Oneida Financial Corp. due to a drop in value of trading securities and increased provisions for loan losses.

The banking company reported net income of $814,000, or 10 cents per share, compared to $1.1 million, or 14 cents per share, a year ago. Oneida announced its results Friday.


SUNY Upstate plans $20 million investment in downtown apartment buildings

The State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University today announced its acquisition of two vacant apartment complexes on Harrison Street in downtown Syracuse.

The acquisition of Townsend Tower at 500 Harrison St. and Harrison House, located across the street from Townsend Tower, is part of the medical school's plan to offer additional student housing.
