SRC wins federal IT security contract

 

SRC, formerly Syracuse Research Corp., said today it won a federal contract worth up to $41.9 million for information-technology (IT) work.

The contract is from the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement unit. SRC will establish and maintain a security operations center under the deal that will help protect IT infrastructure against cybersecurity threats.


OEI is committed to restoring Onondaga Lake Watershed

SYRACUSE — Fishable and swimmable — this is the vision for the future of Onondaga Creek as perceived by local community members. The creek, which meanders about 27 miles north through Syracuse to its outlet in Onondaga Lake, was used in the past for industrial salt extraction and as a sewage-disposal route, leaving numerous water-quality problems today.


State funds to aid housing projects

 

The State Division of Housing and Community Renewal and nyhomes today announced $32 million in funding for communities in Central New York.

The money will aid development of affordable housing, redevelopment of downtown areas, and upgrades to water and sewer systems.


St. Elizabeth Medical Center chooses new CEO

 

St. Elizabeth Medical Center on Friday announced the appointment of Richard Ketcham as its next president and CEO.

He'll begin his new job on Sept. 8, the hospital said in a news release. Ketcham most recently served as president and CEO of Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk in Western New York from 1986 to 2009.


SEFCU acquires mortgage-banking firm

 

SEFCU, a credit union with several branches in the Syracuse and Binghamton areas, said today it plans to acquire a Latham-based mortgage banking company.

Home Funding Finders, which also has an office in Syracuse, will become a subsidiary of SEFCU when the transaction closes Sept. 1. Terms were not disclosed.
