Syracuse listed as one of 25 metro areas to add construction jobs

 

The Syracuse area added 100 construction jobs between June 2009 and June 2010, making it one of only 25 metropolitan areas nationwide that added construction jobs during that period.

The Utica-Rome lost 400 construction jobs, while the Binghamton area lost 100 construction jobs during the same stretch.


Earnings soar at PAR

 

Sales were up 3.2 percent in the second quarter at PAR Technology Corp. and net income more than tripled at the hospitality hardware and software manufacturer.

Second-quarter revenue was $56.2 million, up from $54.5 million a year ago. Net income jumped from $238,000, or 2 cents per share, in the second quarter last year to $849,000, or 6 cents per share.


NBT reports earnings increase

 

Second-quarter earnings rose at NBT Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBTB), the holding company of NBT Bank.
The banking company reported net income of $14.4 million, or 42 cents per share, up 24.8 percent from $11.6 million, or 34 cents per share, a year ago. NBT shares were trading up more than 2.6 percent this morning at $22.82.

Earnings jump at Chemung Financial

 

Second-quarter earnings rose at Chemung Financial Corp., which reported a 260 percent increase in net income in the period.

The company earned $2.5 million, or 69 cents per share, for the quarter, compared with $695,000, or 19 cents, a year ago.


Rome Memorial CEO to step down, successor chosen

 

Rome Memorial Hospital President and CEO Darlene Burns will retire on Dec. 31 after working at the facility in various capacities for nearly 40 years, the hospital announced Friday.

The Rome Memorial board of directors selected Basil Ariglio, the hospital's senior vice president and chief operating officer, as Burns' successor.
