The theme for this year’s conference is “Moving Mountains,” and the hybrid event offers a virtual attendance option as well as the traditional in-person conference. The event’s goal is to offer young professionals the opportunity to polish both professional and personal skill sets.

“Our young professionals today are our leaders of tomorrow, and the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce is proud to support these emerging leaders through a robust offering of young professional programs year-round culminating in the summit,” Leadership Alliance CEO Stacey Duncan said in a press release.

The event features a kick-off speaker to energize attendees for day full of interactive breakout sessions. Topics, suggested by young professionals, include the importance of getting involved, building a career, public speaking, first-time leaders, leadership and entrepreneurism, getting things done on time, becoming an effective problem solver, and women in business.

Attendees also have the opportunity to have a professional headshot taken at no charge and to participate in one of two stress-relief closing sessions.

Speakers for the event include Michael Karl of Michael Karl Magic as the kick-off speaker and Chantay Skrine, owner of Sweetay’s LLC, as the keynote speaker.

Throughout the event sponsors will have exhibits and members of the inaugural YP Mentorship Program will practice their tabling skills. Members of local YP Alliance groups including Emerging Leaders Society, Broome County Urban League Young Professionals, and Southern Tier Young Professionals will also be on hand.

The Greater Binghamton Chamber’s new YP Mentorship Program helps empower young professionals with the skills they need to reach personal and professional goals by pairing young professionals with mentors.

Additional sponsors of the event include BAE Systems; IBM; Raymond Corp.; Coughlin & Gerhart; Toyota; Levene Gouldin & Thompson LLP; Chemung Canal Trust Co.; The Agency; Security Mutual Life Insurance; ICS; Rotary District 7170; Johnson Lauder & Savidge LLP; IdeaKraft; and the Community Foundation for South Central New York.
