Endicott seeks downtown revitalization projects

ENDICOTT, N.Y. — The Endicott Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) Local Planning Committee has issued an open call seeking project proposals for privately-sponsored projects to be considered for DRI funding from a $10 million award from the state.

The Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council selected Endicott for the award, allowing the village to develop a strategic investment plan and implement key catalytic projects to advance downtown revitalization.

During the open call, Endicott wants to hear from the community about potentially transformative projects on privately-owned sites that provide economic and community benefits. This process will enable the committee to vet these projects in a uniform, open, and transparent process.

Submissions could include capital/construction projects, business expansion or creation, and renovation of existing buildings on private sites. Submissions should demonstrate commitment of private funding sources and discuss the project’s transformative nature and potential community benefits. All projects submitted should include as much information as possible in order to demonstrate the idea is feasible and will have a meaningful impact on downtown Endicott.

The committee and its consulting team, led by BFJ Planning, will work with project sponsors to gather additional information as needed. All requirements for submissions are available online at www.endicottdri.com/documents-and-resources.

There will be virtual office hours to discuss projects the week of March 14. Specific dates and times will be announced. The deadline to submit questions is March 18, and the deadline to submit projects is April 1.

More information is available online at www.endicottdri.com.
