People news: Bond law firm names Richards partner

Anna Richards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC announced it has elected Anna W. Richards of its Syracuse office as a member (partner) of the law firm as of Jan. 1.

Richards has a broad corporate and business-law practice, advising clients at every stage of a transaction to help them meet their business objectives while mitigating risk, the Bond firm says. Specifically, she has extensive experience providing legal assistance to clients on commercial contracts, corporate-governance matters, issues that arise in day-to-day business, mergers and acquisitions, and loan transactions.

Richards was one of six women attorneys at Bond, Schoeneck & King elected members in the firm, effective at the start of 2022. Of the other five, two work in the firm’s Rochester office, two in Buffalo, and one in New York City.

“These attorneys, all women this year, each have shown leadership, superior legal ability in their practices and a deep commitment to their clients. I am also looking forward to seeing this year’s class rise into leadership roles and to continue our efforts to create a more equitable and inclusive culture at the firm,” Kevin Bernstein, chairman of Bond’s management committee, said about the new class of members in a firm news release.

Richards earned her law degree from Syracuse University in 2012 and her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in 2009, according to the Bond website.

Bond, Schoeneck & King has 250 lawyers serving individuals, companies, nonprofits and public-sector entities in a broad range of practice areas. Bond has nine offices in New York state as well as offices in Naples, Florida, and Red Bank, New Jersey, plus the Boston and Kansas City areas.
