SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The 15th annual Downtown Living Tour is set for this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The event provides attendees with a “sampling of some of the residential projects that have had the greatest impact on downtown Syracuse’s residential surge and transformation since the tour’s inception in 2007,” the Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Inc. said.

In 15 years, downtown’s residential population has grown 108 percent to 4,300 residents, up from 2,000 residents in 2007 when the tour was first held, the organization added.

In 2020, 281 residential units were completed, providing room for downtown’s population to grow 12.5 percent in just the last year, per the Downtown Committee.

“The 15th anniversary of the Downtown Living Tour offers tourists opportunities to walk through some of the properties that have had the most significant impact on downtown’s residential story,” Merike Treier, executive director of the Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Inc, said in a release. “In the Loew’s Landmark Suites and Firehouse Condos, attendees will get to see some of the first examples of Downtown Syracuse condominiums. The Tour Stop line-up also features some of the newest, innovative examples of urban living. At Commonspace and Washington Place, tourists will be wowed when they see how the concept of shared space has evolved. And, above the Salt City Market, tourists will get to experience the excitement around one of the most anticipated projects to come online in a decade — where all of the apartments here were leased up as soon as they were complete, in March 2021.”
