UTICA, N.Y. — The Live It Downtown fitness and retail complex in Utica will formally open on Friday.

The Fitness Mill gym occupies almost two-thirds of the facility’s 47,800 square feet at 1707 Oriskany Blvd. W. The other tenants are health-food store Peter’s Cornucopia, massage spa Divine Kneads, Gentlemen’s Corner Barber Shop, Brand It Screen Printing, sports-memorabilia store Cooperstown Connection, life coach and art gallery BE. Life, and the 16 Stone Bar and Pub.

“…gym members can work out, buy healthy food, shop … and finish with a drink, all in the same building,” the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce said in a news release.

The complex’s grand-opening event, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, is scheduled for 5 p.m. and will feature food trucks, fireworks, and a performance by illusionist Leon Etienne.

Live It Downtown is owned by Alex Carbone. He purchased The Fitness Mill in 2017 while it was located in the village of New York Mills, per Utica–area news reports.
