Syracuse basketball game against Georgetown set for Dec. 11 in D.C.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse basketball on Tuesday announced it will next face its former Big East rival, the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday, Dec. 11, at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

The 2021-2022 season will be the seventh straight in which the Orange and Georgetown will play, with the teams splitting the prior six contests. Syracuse won last season’s game 74-69 on Jan. 9 in an empty Carrier Dome as no fans were allowed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both teams went on to make the 2021 NCAA Tournament, with the Orange advancing to the Sweet 16, while the Hoyas lost in the first round.
