Tompkins County man busted for theft at Cortlandville Tractor Supply store

CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. — A Tompkins County man on Wednesday night was arrested for stealing many items from a Tractor Supply Company store in Cortland County.

On July 14 at nearly 7 p.m., officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Tractor Supply store at 706 Route 13 in the town of Cortlandville for a larceny in progress. Police say Richard Z. Andrews, age 29 from the town of Lansing in Tompkins County, had “stolen numerous items” from the store. They didn’t disclose the specific items taken, nor the total value of the goods.

Andrews was arrested for petit larceny, a misdemeanor, and transported for processing to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office. He was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Cortlandville Court on Aug. 9 at 1 p.m. for further proceedings.
