Oneida County peaked at about 7,300 active cases in early January. Since then, infection rates have come down sharply and vaccinations have reached critical mass.

Nearly 115,000 Oneida County residents (114,873) have now received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine, according to New York’s vaccine-tracker website, as of 11 a.m., Monday. That equates to exactly 50 percent of the total population and almost 61 percent of the age 18 and over population.

Oneida County said its county-operated vaccination sites have administered 27,116 first doses of a vaccine, plus 22,771 second doses, for a total of 49,887 doses.
