ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday announced that the state had 23 COVID-19 deaths the previous day, the lowest single-day death total since last Nov. 10.
The governor also said the statewide COVID-19 positivity rate dropped to 1.27 percent the prior day, the lowest since last Oct. 22. Regional positivity rates in the latest day included 1.38 percent in Central New York, 1.36 percent in the Mohawk Valley, 1.92 percent in the North Country, and 0.68 percent in the Southern Tier.
Hospitalizations statewide fell by 123 in the last day and were down by 599 in the last week, bringing the current number hospitalized in New York down to 2,335.
