Oneida Indian Nation to open Sandstone Hollow Inn in May

The Oneida Indian Nation says it has purchased the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Verona and will rebrand the facility as the Sandstone Hollow Inn. VERONA, N.Y. — The Oneida Indian Nation announced that next month it plans to open Sandstone Hollow Inn, a hotel property it acquired and developed in 2020.

Sandstone Hollow Inn — formerly the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham — is located across from Turning Stone’s Sandstone Hollow Golf Course at 5118 State Route 365 in Verona.

Sandstone Hollow Inn adds 81 rooms to the Oneida Nation Enterprises hotel portfolio. To help staff up, the organization will be offering sign-on bonuses of $1,000 to every new housekeeper hired at its properties.

The Sandstone Hollow Inn is set to formally open on May 12 and will include complimentary shuttle service to Turning Stone Resort Casino, continental-breakfast offerings, and laundry facilities for guests. Sandstone Hollow Inn will also be dog-friendly, per an Oneida Nation Enterprises news release.

The Wednesday announcement comes less than a week after the Hampton Inn Verona at Turning Stone announced it was open for business.

Sandstone Hollow Inn’s opening comes in response to the “growing demand” for rooms at Turning Stone Resort and is a “key indicator of positive economic growth” in the region, the Oneida Indian Nation contends.

“As we emerge from the past year with our eyes on recovery and growth, we are incredibly pleased that this expansion will create even more employment opportunities for members of our community,” Ray Halbritter, Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO and Oneida Indian Nation representative, said in the release.

The hiring process is currently underway. For details on how to apply and to view all open positions at Sandstone Hollow Inn, those interested can visit the Oneida Nation Enterprises website
