SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Le Moyne College announced that it will permit two guests per graduating student at its upcoming outdoor commencement ceremonies in May.

But there’s a catch. If severe weather requires a graduation ceremony to move indoors, guests will not be permitted to attend due to the state’s capacity restrictions on gatherings.

More details regarding testing and health screenings will be “forthcoming,” Le Moyne said in a news release.

The college plans to hold all commencement events in-person on its campus, outside of the Thomas J. Niland Jr. Athletic Complex.

Le Moyne has also set the times for its commencement ceremonies in late May.

The undergraduate ceremonies for the Class of 2020 are set for Saturday, May 22 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The ceremonies for undergraduates in the Class of 2021 are slated for Friday, May 28 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

And the ceremonies for graduate students in both the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 are set for Thursday, May 27 at 7 p.m.

In addition, Le Moyne College will hold its Honors Convocation on Sunday, May 23 at 10 a.m. and its Baccalaureate Mass later that same day at 6:30 p.m.

In addition to in-person ceremonies, virtual commencement videos will be available on the mornings of May 22 and May 28 for the undergraduate classes of 2020 and 2021, respectively. All ceremonies, including the graduate commencement on May 27, will be livestreamed on Le Moyne’s YouTube channel.
