ITHACA, N.Y. — New York State Police in Ithaca announced Friday that a recent traffic stop led them to arrest an area man for stealing a car in Olean nearly two months earlier.
On Nov. 27, at about 9:51 p.m., State Police arrested Michael C. Dostman, age 35 of Lansing, for 3rd degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, and 2nd degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor.
The arrest came about after a trooper initiated a traffic stop on North Triphammer Road in the village of Lansing after he observed a vehicle speeding on State Route 13. The officer discovered that the vehicle was stolen from a driveway in the city of Olean in early October, according to the State Police.
