Oneida County announces possible public exposure to virus at 6 area locations

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County officials on Thursday reported recent, possible public exposure to the coronavirus at six area locations, including four stores, a state park, and a church.

The details of the recent potential exposures are as follows:

Place of exposure: Aldi

Address of exposure: Seneca Turnpike, New Hartford

Place of exposure: Rite Aid

Address of exposure: 1924 Genesee St., Utica

Oneida County also reported the following COVID-19 statistics on Thursday:

  • 9 new virus cases (none are nursing-home residents), 2,033 total (In comparison, the county reported 24 cases on Wednesday)
  • 0 new COVID-19-related deaths, 115 total
  • 10 coronavirus patients are hospitalized in Oneida County (9 at MVHS, 1 at Rome Memorial), up from 7 the day before
  • 2 patients are hospitalized outside Oneida County, unchanged from a day prior
  • 4 hospitalized patients in the county are nursing-home residents receiving acute care (all 4 at MVHS), up from 2 the day before
  • 226 active positive cases, up by 4 since Wednesday
  • 1,692 people with the virus have recovered, up 5 in the last day
  • 73,817 total tests have been conducted.
  • 71,784 total negative results
  • 226 people are in mandatory isolation, up 4 from a day prior
  • 1,056 are in mandatory quarantine, up 6 since Wednesday

The county’s infection rate was 0.87 percent in the last day with 9 positives out of 1,033 total tests.
