Oneida County Tourism moves to two new office locations

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County Tourism (OCT) has moved operations to two new offices that it says will help enhance the visitor experience and accessibility.

At the end of 2023, OCT moved from its former location at the Thruway exit 31 welcome center and opened a new office at Union Station in Utica. Additionally, three staff members moved into the Oneida County Office Building, the organization announced in a news release.

“Oneida County government is happy to host our great partner Oneida County Tourism in our facilities at Union Station and the county office building in Utica,” Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. said in the release. “These new strategic office locations will elevate the organization’s presence and enhance its ability to promote this country for the great place it is to live, work, and play.”

The welcome center in Union Station is open seven days a week and offers a variety of local and statewide travel guides, brochures, and information to help people plan their Oneida County experience. Staff are available daily to provide assistance and guidance.

The county office building location, strategically located near several of OTC’s stakeholders, is not open to the public.

“We’re thrilled about our move to Union Station, which aligns with the county’s growth and enhances accessibility for visitors and locals seeking information about the area,” OCT President Sarah Foster Calero said in the release. “The location in the bustling Bagg’s Square District, amidst local developments like Tailor and the Cook, Bagg’s Square Brewing, and the Utica University Nexus Center, reinforces our commitment to promoting tourism. And it’s been great for the rest of our team to have office space in the county office building. It’s vital to tourism that we work closely with County Executive Picente and the board of legislators and being here allows us to foster these relationships.”

Oneida County Tourism is the official destination-marketing organization for the county. It promotes the region’s diverse offerings and enhances the visitor experience by providing information and resources.
