Oneida County reports 17 COVID-19 cases, one death in last day

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County on Friday reported that 17 people tested positive for the coronavirus, compared to 6 and 22 positives, respectively, the previous two days.

Oneida County also reported the following COVID-19 statistics:

  • The 17 cases bring the county’s total to 1,957
  • 1 new COVID-19-related death (nursing-home resident), 112 total
  • 9 coronavirus patients are hospitalized in Oneida County (7 at MVHS, 2 at Rome Memorial), down from 10 patients the day before and 13 two days ago
  • 1 patient is admitted in a hospital outside Oneida County, same as the day before
  • 2 hospitalized patients in the county are nursing-home residents receiving acute care (1 at MVHS, 1 at Rome Memorial)
  • 217 active positive cases, up 14 from a day ago, but down 15 from two days prior
  • 1,628 people with the virus have recovered, up 2 from the day before
  • 68,686 total tests have been conducted
  • 66,729 total negative results
  • 217 people are in mandatory isolation, up 14 from a day earlier
  • 941 are in mandatory quarantine, down 7 from Thursday

The county’s infection rate was 1.53 percent in the last day with 17 positives out of 1,110 total tests.
