Onondaga County now has 1,425 total positive cases of COVID-19, up 31 from Monday, according to McMahon.
The figure includes 54 people who are recovering in a hospital, down 1 from Monday. The county has 14 people who are in critical condition, up one from yesterday.
The Tuesday data also shows that 751 people have recovered from the virus, up 14 from Monday, McMahon said.

The county executive again reiterated his expectation that the Central New York region would meet the seven requirements to begin the phased reopening of businesses starting Friday. That will include construction; manufacturing and wholesale supply chain; all retailers using curbside pickup; and agriculture, forestry, and fishing.
Central New York is still a little shy of the benchmark that a region test 30 of every 1,000 residents per month, based on a seven-day average of new tests per day. The region’ s seven-day average of tests is 670 as of Tuesday, up from 647 per day as of Monday. But it needs to rise to 775. McMahon insists that issue will be resolved by the end of Wednesday as the state incorporates CNY’s large number of recent tests into its data.
