SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Le Moyne College has decided to continue with online-only instruction through its summer session, including its “May-mester” period.

The college has also cancelled all on-campus activities — including sports and academic camps, weddings, conferences and other events — through July 31 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As for the fall semester Le Moyne says it intends to return to a “more normal academic and student experience.”

Le Moyne President Linda LeMura included the school’s plan for the next few months in a letter to the Le Moyne community that was posted on the college’s website.

For the fall semester, Le Moyne will make its decisions based on guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“As it becomes clearer what a return will look like, we will communicate with all College constituencies,” said LeMura.

She noted that a group of individuals from every campus division has been meeting regularly to determine “several possible scenarios” for Le Moyne’s response to the COVID-19 public-health crisis and how it will impact the summer and fall academic calendar, campus events and activities (including first-year welcome), residence life, and the eventual return of employees to campus.
