SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Organizers of the annual Taste of Syracuse event have decided to cancel it for 2020, citing “public health and safety concerns related to the coronavirus” pandemic.
The Taste of Syracuse was scheduled for June 5-6 this year. The event has historically been held in early June as has served as a kickoff event for the annual summer festival season in and around Clinton Square in Syracuse.
“With so much uncertainty pertaining to large gatherings such as concerts and festivals, Galaxy Events has decided to make the very difficult decision to cancel the Taste of Syracuse for 2020,” Carrie Wojtaszek, COO of Galaxy Media said in a statement. “The safety and wellbeing of our vendors and festival goers has always been our number one concern. We plan to bring back the event bigger and better than ever in 2021.”
