Broome County reports 10th COVID-19 death, warns about possible exposure at Vestal Walmart

Walmart store in Granby
Pictured is the Walmart store in Granby. Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) says it will spend $52 million during the next year to remodel 15 stores across New York state and introduce in-store and online changes. Walmart stores in Johnson City, Oneida, Geneva, Waterloo, and Watkins Glen are among those set to be remodeled. The Granby store is not on the remodel list.

Customers who were in the store on April 12 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. in the grocery department are being asked to self-quarantine and contact their doctor if they develop symptoms such as a cough, fever, and shortness of breath.

The 14-day incubation period will be over on April 26. The Walmart employee did not work while symptomatic, the department noted.

Broome County was up to  195 total COVID-19 cases as of 2 p.m. on Sunday. It had 43 recoveries, 142 active cases, and the 10 deaths.
