SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Digital Hyve — a Syracuse–based digital-marketing agency that has grown rapidly since its founding in mid-2014 — announced it has received $1 million in tax incentives from the Empire State Development (ESD) Excelsior Jobs program.
The Excelsior Jobs initiative seeks to encourage businesses to expand in New York state that meet specific job and investment commitments. This award is given to businesses in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, high-tech, clean-technology, green technology or financial services industries who maintain new jobs or make significant financial investments in New York state. Digital Hyve says it received one of the largest awards in the region.
“This award is a testament to our growth over the last five years. From day one, we set out to build a strong company, investing in our employees and working with a client-first mentality,” Jeff Knauss, co-founder and CEO of Digital Hyve, said in a statement. “We are so grateful to be recognized with this award, which will allow us to continue to grow our company, and in turn, will provide more job opportunities in Central New York.”

Digital Hyve has grown to include 52 full-time employees in two offices — one in Syracuse and another in Rochester. The company is also planning an expansion into Buffalo.
Digital Hyve’s digital-marketing services include building websites, offering search-engine optimization (SEO) services, search-engine marketing, social-media retargeting, display ads, geofencing, email marketing, and more, according to Knauss.
Digital Hyve grew from $102,000 in revenue in 2014 to $5.2 million in 2017, to about $8 million in 2018, Knauss told CNYBJ in an October 2018 interview.
Digital Hyve’s Syracuse headquarters is in a 7,500-square-foot office in the 100 Clinton Square building at 126 N. Salina St.
