Oneida Indian Nation to expand Point Place Casino

The Oneida Indian Nation is working with Las Vegas, Nevada–based Caesars Entertainment (NASDAQ: CZR) to bring sport betting to its properties in upstate New York, including Point Place Casino in Sullivan. SULLIVAN, N.Y. — The Oneida Indian Nation says crews have started construction on the first expansion of Point Place Casino, located in the Bridgeport area of the town of Sullivan in Madison County.

The Oneida Nation expects construction crews will finish their work by late spring.

The casino which opened a year-and-a-half ago, has been “exceeding expectations for guest demand,” per a Thursday news release. The Nation didn’t provide revenue or customer numbers. It also didn’t disclose a dollar amount for the expansion project.

The new addition at Point Place Casino will include an expanded gaming floor with nearly 100 additional slot machines, increasing the total to more than 600 slots. It will also include a new dealer school for training table games dealers, as well as additional administrative offices.

The new expansion adds to Point Place Casino’s existing amenities, including slots, table games, sportsbook, two restaurants (Burgers of Madison County and Wicked Good Pizza), two bars (the Fireside Lounge and Paddle Bar), and Opal’s Confectionary, the chocolatier and bakery that originated at Turning Stone.

“We are grateful to our guests and employees who have made Point Place Casino such a success, and we are excited to provide an even better experience moving forward,” Ray Halbritter, Oneida Indian Nation representative and Nation Enterprises CEO, contended in the release.

As with all major Oneida Nation projects, the expansion of Point Place Casino will follow a project labor agreement with Central New York trade unions, the Nation added.
