ONEIDA, N.Y. — State Police in Oneida announced they have arrested a town of Eaton man for attempting to rob a convenience store.
Jeremy L. Cook, age 22, was arrested for 1st degree attempted robbery, a felony, and 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
Cook is accused of entering the A-N-W EZ Mart store on State Route 26 in Eaton at about 11 p.m. on Monday night with a knife and demanding money from the cashier, the State Police said in a news release. The cashier “immediately recognized Cook and refused to hand over the money,” the release added.

Police found Cook at his residence and took him into custody without incident. Cook was arraigned in the Town of Eaton Court and sent to Madison County Jail on $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Eaton Town Court next Monday, Aug. 19 at 3 p.m.
