SRC launches new business in United Kingdom

Cicero–based SRC Inc. plans to add up to 1,000 new hires over the next five years in response to the state’s investment in the drone industry. The office of Gov. Andrew Cuomo included the SRC job details in a Thursday news release announcing an agreement between NASA and Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance (NUAIR). That agreement included the launch of the first phase of the world’s first 50-mile unmanned traffic-management (UTM) corridor between Syracuse and Rome. (Eric Reinhardt / BJNN)

CICERO, N.Y. — SRC, Inc. has launched SRC UK Ltd, a new company based in the United Kingdom (UK) that will support the British Armed Forces.

SRC UK combines SRC, Inc.’s more than 40 years of experience in electronic warfare (EW) with a UK–based team of EW experts to provide capabilities to solve the UK’s “toughest EW challenges,” SRC said in a Wednesday news release.

The challenges range from mission intelligence and engineering services to the development of threat-simulator receivers that assist with airborne training and operations.

SRC UK currently has three employees, a figure that SRC expects to increase to 15 within a year, Michael Jewett, marketing manager at SRC, tells BJNN in an email. The employees are all new hires, and all employees will be UK citizens, Jewett adds.

SRC UK is a subsidiary of SRC International, Inc., a holding company for SRC, Inc.’s companies operating outside the U.S., per the SRC website.

SRC is a nonprofit corporation headquartered in Cicero that focuses on areas that include defense, environment, and intelligence.

SRC has hired Stephen Davies as the managing director of SRC UK. Davies will lead efforts to support SRC UK’s customers with EW modernization and intelligence mission data (IMD) efforts.

“We are excited to be launching SRC UK to continue our strong relationship supporting Her Majesty’s Armed Forces,” Paul Tremont, CEO of SRC, said in the firm’s release. “We are confident that Stephen will provide leadership that will propel SRC UK to have a major role in supporting the EW modernization effort to help protect warfighters.”

Davies is an experienced Air Force wing commander with over 35 years of “demonstrated success” in the Royal Air Force. His background includes experience in defence intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, as well as radar and EW programs. Most recently, Davies served as deputy senior intelligence officer, F-35, and was responsible for coordinating the requirements of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia F-35 Lightning II, reprogramming laboratory.
