Griffith Dardanelli Architects, P.C. of Schenectady has merged with the Saratoga Springs office of Watertown–based BCA Architects & Engineers, the North Country firm announced Monday.
BCA didn’t release any financial terms of its merger agreement with the Griffith Dardanelli firm. The merger took effect Monday, Kelly Reinhardt, director of business development at BCA Architects & Engineers, says in an email response to a BJNN inquiry.
The deal expands BCA’s presence in the Capital Region and Adirondacks. BCA has also moved its Saratoga Springs office to a new location because the office is “growing.”

BCA Architects & Engineers — which has offices in Saratoga Springs, Ithaca, and Watertown — has a professional staff of 100 architects, engineers, planners, and construction specialists. The figure includes the five new employees from the Griffith Dardanelli firm, Reinhardt says.
With the combination, Griffith Dardanelli’s employees will continue serving their current clients and “enhance” the service to BCA’s current clients in the Capital Region and Adirondacks, BCA said.
“This will strategically position us to continue our service to our clients well into the future, and significantly increase the expertise and resources we can offer our clients,” Sandra Dardanelli, president of Griffith Dardanelli Architects, P.C., contended in a statement.
Founded in 1953, Griffith Dardanelli Architects has completed hundreds of projects across New York state that focus on K-12 educational facilities.
“This [merger] reflects BCA’s commitment to its clients in the Capital Region to enhance our services with an expanded, local presence,” Kevin Lewis, CEO of BCA Architects & Engineers, said. “And while the combination is new, the firms share a focus on client service and extensive experience in K-12 school projects. Our experiences and outlooks are so similar that this union seems almost inevitable.”
BCA primarily works with institutional clients including state and local governments, public and higher education, nonprofits, and health care. Over the last five years, BCA has planned, designed and/or administered “over a half billion dollars” of construction projects, the firm said.
