MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — Stevie Watson is the new dean of the School of Agriculture, Business & Technology at SUNY Morrisville.
Watson is the first dean of Morrisville’s School of Agriculture, Business & Technology, one of two new schools within the college formed after reorganizing and restructuring programs previously spread across four schools, SUNY Morrisville said in a news release issued Tuesday. He started in his post on Monday.
Watson most recently served as dean of the School of Business at Edgewood College, in Madison, Wisconsin, and chair of the Department of Management, Marketing & Public Administration at Bowie State University in Maryland.
Prior to Bowie State, he served as a full-time marketing faculty member at universities including the Rutgers Business School in New Jersey and the University of Dayton in Ohio. Watson also served on the faculty at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, the University of Wisconsin-Superior, and Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn.
Watson has additional work experience as a financial analyst, business information specialist, and marketing analyst at Bryan Foods, a Sara Lee company.
“Dr. Watson has demonstrated interest in fields of study beyond his own, and has an impressive set of skills and experience,” Barry Springs, SUNY Morrisville provost, said in a release. “He brings a unique blend of leadership, academic and professional experience, all of which are required to carry out the mission of the college.”
Watson has worked with many organizations on marketing and business consulting projects. In addition to his expertise in market research and consulting, he is well-versed in employee development, public speaking, diversity and inclusion, executive advisory board management, program development, and community relations, SUNY Morrisville said.
Watson earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, focused in marketing, an MBA degree, and a doctorate degree in business administration (marketing) — all from Mississippi State University.
