SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University on Thursday announced a new search committee to find the next dean of the School of Information Studies (iSchool).
Longtime iSchool Dean Liz Liddy retired in May.
Gene Anderson, dean of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management, will chair the new iSchool dean search committee, the university said in a news release.
Anderson assumes the role that David Seaman, dean of libraries and university librarian, previously held. The school had appointed Seaman to chair the committee when it was first announced back in November. Syracuse Vice Chancellor and Provost Michele Wheatly in May appointed Seaman as the interim iSchool dean, along with his duties as dean of libraries.
New York City–based search firm Russell Reynolds Associates will be assisting the search committee in its work, the school said.
