SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The City of Syracuse has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to select a vendor for web-design services and implementation of a new content-management system for its website, www.syrgov.net.
The RFP is available online at http://www.syracuse.ny.us/PurchaseRFP. The city will accept proposals until May 21 at 2:30 p.m., per a Wednesday news release.
The redesign will create a digital brand for the city; improve design, functionality, user-navigation, and user-experience; and include web development integrations that support modernized city service functions. The effort is “in alignment with the mayor’s objective to provide quality constituent engagement and response,” the office of Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh said in the release.

Criminal Liability for Employment Law Violations?
New York employers are often surprised to learn that wage law violations can lead to criminal penalties in addition to financial penalties. Whether payroll is outsourced, or a staffing agency
“The current site is more than a decade old and is built on an outdated web platform,” Ruthnie Angrand, director of communications and marketing, said. “The new syrgov.net is intended to help the City realize a true altitude in high-quality delivery of City services and digital citizen engagement. We’re seeking partners that can think higher and further ahead than what a user can do online now, but to what users can do five years from now to participate in government and retrieve the information and services they need.”
The RFP specifies the website design “must be reflective” of the city’s brand guidelines; offer “competitive advantages” in a content-management system; be secure; integrate the Syracuse Police Department website; and “comply with all web [Americans with Disabilities Act] compliance guidelines.”
All project inquiries should be titled “Website Redevelopment Questions” and emailed to Ruthnie Angrand, project manager and director of communications and marketing, at rangrand@syrgov.net. Inquiries should CC: purchase@syrgov.net in the email.
