UTICA, N.Y. — Utica–based Resource Center for Independent Living (RCIL) announced that it has hired Charles (Sonny) Greco as its executive director of LIFE at RCIL, effective May 6.
Greco currently serves as chief of staff for the City of Utica, a position he’s held since 2013.
The executive director of LIFE at RCIL is a new position, Holly Saupp, COO at RCIL, said in an email response to a BJNN inquiry.
The LIFE at RCIL executive director oversees administrative operations, advocates for individuals with disabilities, and promotes public awareness regarding the services RCIL offers.
RCIL describes itself as the “largest independent-living center in New York” with offices in Utica, Herkimer, and Amsterdam. RCIL says it works to “ensure people with disabilities can fully participate in society through the exercise of equal rights and responsibilities.”
“We look forward to Sonny joining the RCIL leadership team,” Zvia McCormick, CEO of RCIL, said in a news release. “He will play a crucial role in our mission to empower individuals with disabilities in their quest for full and equal participation in their community.”
Prior to his role as chief of staff for the City of Utica, Greco worked as regional representative for the Mohawk Valley in Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration and in the Washington, D.C. office of former U.S. Representative Michael Arcuri.
