Schenectady County man accused of stealing nearly $7K in unemployment benefits

GLENVILLE, N.Y. — A Schenectady County man was recently arrested by New York State Police for two crimes associated with claiming almost $7,000 in state unemployment benefits he wasn’t supposed to receive.

State Police investigators in Princetown arrested Joseph Mazzoccone, of Glenville, for 3rd degree grand larceny, a class D felony, and 1st degree falsifying business records, a class E felony.

Mazzoccone was accused of claiming $6,880.00 of unemployment benefits from the New York State Department of Labor that he was not entitled to receive because he was employed. He was scheduled to appear in Glenville Town Court on Thursday evening.
