ENDWELL, N.Y. — Delta Engineers, Architects, & Land Surveyors, DPC (Delta), which is headquartered in Endwell, announced it has acquired Lewis Engineering, PC of Albany in a deal that took effect Jan. 1.

Delta didn’t release any terms of its acquisition agreement.

The merger is “logical” based on the two firms’ core services and “comparable” client rosters, Delta contended in a news release.

Lewis Engineering was founded in 1995 as Schaefer Engineering & Architecture Associates, PC and became Lewis Engineering in 2006, when Rodney Lewis assumed primary ownership. Lewis will become a principal with Delta and seven Lewis employees have joined Delta.

With this acquisition, Delta has now grown to 144 employees. The firm has offices in Endwell, Vernon, and Schenectady, along with one in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

The former Lewis Engineering office at 94 New Karner Road in Albany will be relocated to the new Delta office at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady in late January.

This new office expansion was facilitated by the collaboration of the Delta management team, the Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority, and the Galesi Group, a Schenectady–based real-estate company.

Delta had announced plans to open the Schenectady office last August.

“Rodney Lewis and his experienced team will make an excellent addition to the Delta Facilities Group,” Anthony Paniccia, president & CEO of Delta, said in the release. “Their expertise with the design standards of our common clients will make this transition seamless and efficient. We are very pleased to have them join our Mohawk Harbor Office and to now have an office location in the Albany Capital Region.”
