CROUSE MEDICAL PRACTICE
JOSHUA HARRISON, M.D., has joined Crouse Medical Practice – Cardiology. Board-certified in cardiovascular disease, he received his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Harrison also completed his residency at Upstate Medical and went on to complete a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Connecticut, Hartford Hospital. His clinical interests include heart failure, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, and echo cardiology.
MOHAWK VALLEY HEALTH SYSTEM (MVHS)
ALYSSIA LLOYD has joined the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Sauquoit Medical Office as a family nurse practitioner. Prior to joining the MVHS Medical Group, she worked as a family nurse practitioner at Allergy Care PLLC in Utica, and at Bassett Healthcare in Herkimer and Cooperstown. Lloyd has worked as a registered nurse at Rome Memorial Hospital and St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She received her master’s and bachelor’s degree in nursing from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Lloyd completed her associate degree in in nursing at St. Elizabeth College of Nursing and is board-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center Board. She is also certified in basic life support.
MATTHEW BLANDO, M.D., a specialist in family medicine, has joined the MVHS Whitesboro Medical Office. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biomedical science at the University at Buffalo and his medical degree at the American University of Antigua in Osbourn, Antigua and Barbuda. Blando completed his residency in family medicine at the St. Elizabeth Family Medicine residency program and is board-certified in family medicine. Prior to joining MVHS, Blando worked as a medical assistant at Slocum Dickson Medical Group.
CLAUDIA BAILEYhas joined the MVHS Whitesboro Medical Office as a family nurse practitioner. She has worked as a staff nurse at MVHS since 2014. Bailey previously held positions as a charge nurse in the Rehabilitation Unit, RN supervisor for the Charles T. Sitrin Rehabilitation Center, and as a registered nurse, nurse manager/supervisor for Rosewood Heights Health Care Center in Syracuse. She earned her associate degree in science from the Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York City and her associate in nursing degree from the St. Elizabeth College of Nursing. Bailey earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing and family nurse practitioner, respectively, from the SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
SHALYNN COZZA has been named nurse manager for the Neuro/Pediatric Unit, 3N, at the St. Elizabeth campus. She has worked at the St. Elizabeth campus since 2004 and has served as a psychiatric assistant, ward clerk, psychiatric social worker, Spirit of Excellence instructor, staff nurse on the Special Care Unit, and clinical educator for the 3A/3B nursing units. Most recently, Cozza served as the clinical educator for Psychiatric Services, float staff, and the Transfer Center. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Polytechnic Institute, an associate degree in nursing from St. Elizabeth’s College of Nursing, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Downers Grove, Illinois.
STEVEN EGERT has joined the MVHS New Hartford Medical Group as a family nurse practitioner. He has worked as a staff nurse with MVHS at the St. Luke’s Campus since 2012 and also served as an adjunct clinical instructor for Morrisville State College from 2014 to 2017. Egert earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
NICOLE SCHRECK, a family nurse practitioner, has joined the MVHS Waterville Office. She previously worked as a staff nurse at Rome Memorial Hospital and also as a clinical instructor for the advanced bachelor’s degree in nursing program at Utica College and a certified nursing assistant at Sitrin Healthcare Center. Schreck received her master ‘s degree in nursing from SUNY Polytechnic Institute and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University. She completed her associate degree in nursing at the St. Elizabeth College of Nursing.
OSWEGO HEALTH
MICHAEL CAREY, physician assistant, has joined the Oswego Health Cardiology Department. He recently earned his physician-assistant degree from Le Moyne College and obtained his bachelor’s degree from SUNY Geneseo. After serving as a high-school volunteer at Oswego Hospital, he enrolled in CiTi’s New Vision Allied Health program. As a college student, Carey worked as an emergency department technician at Oswego Hospital. He was a volunteer medic for the Geneseo Fire Department, a SUNY Geneseo first responder, and a student driver for the college’s SART program.
ROME MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
The Food and Nutrition Department at Rome Memorial Hospital has added AMBER R. JONES, clinical dietitian, to its staff. She previously worked at Rome Memorial Hospital as a registered dietetic technician and diet clerk, from 2014-2015, while attending college. Jones graduated from Morrisville State College with an associate degree in dietetic technician/food service administration, and received her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Syracuse University. She completed her a master’s degree in applied nutrition at Sage Graduate Schools in Troy. After completing her master’s degree, Jones accepted a clinical dietitian position at Union Hospital of Cecil County in Delaware.
PATRICIA DISPIRITO has joined the staff of Chestnut Commons Physical and Occupational Therapy. Specializing in pelvic-floor rehabilitation, she has more than 35 years of experience in outpatient therapy, home care, skilled nursing, and private practice. Additionally, she has spent time as an instructor at Utica College and Herkimer County Community College, helping to train the next generation of physical therapists. Dispirito received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Florida in Gainesville and her doctorate in physical therapy from Utica College.
ST. JOSEPH’S HEALTH
St. Joseph’s Health has added ANKITA SUBEDI to the hospitalist team at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital. She comes to St. Joseph’s Health following the completion of her residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and earned her medical degree from the Institute of Medicine at Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal. At St. Vincent’s, Subedi was actively involved in the establishment of a family health clinic committed to the treatment of patients with Hepatitis C diagnosis. While in Nepal, she worked as a physician, in the role of medical officer at Bharosa Hospital Private Limited in Kathmandu and volunteered her services in the rural villages of Nepal. Subedi was the expedition doctor for Himalayan Expeditions in Solukhumbu, Nepal, an ultra-marathon beginning at the base of Mt. Everest. In this capacity, she was responsible for treatment of injuries and health concerns during the ascent and descent. She is an active researcher in her field, Subedi is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, in addition to earning certifications from National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, and the Nepal Medical Council.
VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES
Valley Health Services has added HOLLY ASHLEY, RN, adult day health care, to its professional staff. She has an associate degree from Excelsior College in Albany. Ashley has 18 years of RN experience having worked in the dialysis unit at St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica and Bassett Healthcare Network in Cooperstown.
TRACY REESH has joined Valley Health Services as assistant nursing care coordinator. She has an associate degree in nursing from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in Utica and five years of experience in nursing, with her most recent employment at the analysis unit at Faxton Hospital.
