ONEIDA, N.Y. — Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) announced it plans to expand its 1,800-square-foot Oneida medical office to a space that will cover about 4,000 square feet.

The expansion will begin “soon” and should be complete by the third quarter of 2019, Grace Fernandez, communications specialist at MVHS, said in an email reply to a BJNN inquiry.

MVHS last Friday formally opened the Oneida medical office, which is located at 131 Main St. in Oneida. The organization initially announced its opening in late July.

The Oneida medical office is the first MVHS primary-care office to open in Madison County, the organization said. MVHS will also provide dialysis and lab services at this location.

“The Mohawk Valley Health System is committed to improving access to primary-care services throughout our region,” Dr. Michael Attilio, VP of the MVHS Medical Group, said in a news release. “Opening a medical office in the city of Oneida offers our neighbors in Madison County more options to obtain the care they need more quickly and conveniently.”

The providers at the Oneida medical office include Dr. Andrea Finocchiaro and Kristy Russ, a nurse practitioner, MVHS said.

The office currently has seven employees including health-care providers and support staff. MVHS anticipates adding a third provider and two support-staff positions in January, Fernandez said.
