Health-Care Career Moves – October 2018

ASSOCIATED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS

HADLEY NARINS, M.D. has joined the Water Street office under the Syracuse Division of Associated Medical Professionals. She will be developing the female urology and pelvic reconstruction program at Crouse Hospital. Narins completed her undergraduate degree in English literature from Yale College and earned her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She went on to SUNY Buffalo for her general surgery internship and urology residency, which she completed in June 2017. Narins is currently in Minneapolis completing a fellowship.

 

COSTELLO EYE PHYSICIANS & SURGEONS

GANGA NAIR, M.D. has joined Costello Eye Physicians & Surgeons. She has spent the last 15 years practicing ophthalmology in Yonkers. Nair graduated from Cornell University with a degree in chemistry and then attended medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Prior to starting her residency in ophthalmology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, she spent one year at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco for an internal medicine internship.

HCR HOME CARE

HCR Home Care has added the following new employees to its Central New York operations: SHAMIKA BRANTLEY, home health aide in Onondaga County; ARIELLE GRIMMAGE, licensed practical nurse in Onondaga County; and AMANDA SCHRAMP, physical therapist in Jefferson County.

 

LORETTO

AMANDA STOPPER has been promoted administrator for Sedgwick Heights, a Loretto assisted living community. Formerly the assistant administrator of The Bernardine, she holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Le Moyne College and a master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis in health-care management from Grand Canyon University in Arizona. Stopper has been with Loretto for four years, with various roles in human resources and for the past two years she has been the assistant administrator for The Bernardine.

 

ROME MEDICAL GROUP

DIANE CLUTE and JONATHAN MIZGALA, two new primary care providers have joined the Rome Medical Group (RMG), an affiliate of Rome Memorial Hospital.

Clute received her associate degree in nursing from Crouse Hospital School of Nursing, Syracuse, her bachelor of nursing from SUNY Canton, and her master’s degree in nursing with family nurse practitioner certification from SUNYIT, Utica.

Mizgala, a 2003 graduate of Rome Catholic School, has returned to the area after living and working in Chicago for the past few years. He received his associate degree in nursing from St. Elizabeth College of Nursing, Utica, his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in St. Louis, and his doctorate Doctor of Nursing advanced practice nursing – family practice degree from Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago.

 

MARIANNE TURNER has joined the Rome Medical Group as a clinical nurse manager. She began her career as a certified nursing assistant, then became a licensed practical nurse and, while working in the pediatric and primary care departments at Rome Medical Group, she pursued her degree as a registered nurse. Turner has more than 20 years of nursing experience in various types of medical facilities

 

JOSEPH’S PHYSICIANS

RYAN PLANER, M.D. has joined St. Joseph’s Physicians Primary Care in Baldwinsville, which is part of St. Joseph’s Health. He earned his M.D. degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, and his master’s degree in public health from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Planer also has a bachelor’s degree in cell and molecular biology and a bachelor’s degree in European history from Syracuse University. He completed his residency with the St. Joseph’s Health Family Medicine Residency Program, where he served as chief resident for one year.

 

UPSTATE FAMILY HEALTH CENTER

VALERIE YAGER, adult nurse practitioner; RACHEL CORBIN, family nurse practitioner; and COREY CORBIN, nurse practitioner, have joined Upstate Family Health Center’s team of health-care providers.

Yager joined Upstate Family Health Center in Utica. She earned her master’s degree in nursing from SUNYIT in Utica. Yager most recently worked for Team Health providing medical care for elderly patients and prior to that worked 24 years in various roles with Masonic Care Community serving the elderly.

 

Rachael Corbin is on the provider team at the Rome location. She graduated from SUNY Canton with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and earned her RN designation. Corbin graduated from the nurse practitioner program at SUNYIT with a master’s degree in nursing and earned her nurse practitioner designation. Prior to working at Upstate Family Health Center, she most recently worked at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse in its Level 1 Trauma Center for pediatrics and adults.

Corey Corbin has joined the staff at Upstate Family Health Center’s Rome location. A graduate of the St. Elizabeth’s College of Nursing in Utica, he went on to earn his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from SUNYIT. Prior to joining Upstate Family Health Center, Corbin was employed by Oneida Healthcare in the emergency department.
