Pittsburgh has lost two consecutive road games, including a 45-14 defeat at No. 13 UCF last Saturday. The Panthers fell 38-35 at North Carolina the week before.
Saturday’s meeting is the 74th all-time between Syracuse and Pitt. The Panthers hold a 38-32-3 series lead, including a 21-11 advantage at home. Syracuse won the teams’ 2017 contest 27-24 at the Carrier Dome. That snapped Pitt’s four-game winning streak in the series.
