SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Loretto’s daybreak adult medical day program in Syracuse has moved to a bigger location at the Loretto Syracuse campus.
The new site is on the first floor of the Cunningham building at 700 East Brighton Ave., which is about one mile from its previous location at 161 Intrepid Lane in Syracuse, Loretto said.
The program will be expanding its physical space in this new location to accommodate the “increased demand” for its services.

The new daybreak location provides a newly renovated space; a separate dining room and activity area; and connection to an outdoor walking path, gazebo and grassy picnic and outdoor-activity area, per a Loretto news release.
“This move was approved by the New York State Department of Health based on the application we submitted last year requesting approval to move to a space double the size of our existing program,” Chris Tanchak, director of adult day health services at Loretto, said. “Loretto’s daybreak program is running at full capacity most days, and we needed more room to provide the best service to our program participants.”
Loretto’s PACE CNY program formerly occupied the space in which the daybreak program is now operating. Loretto recently opened a new PACE CNY location in DeWitt in addition to the PACE CNY location in North Syracuse.
Loretto’s daybreak adult medical program helps adults 21 and older to live independently “for as long as possible,” the organization said.
The program supplements the services they’re receiving and helps them deal with medical conditions through a network of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nurse’s aides, registered dieticians, therapists, case managers, and recreation staff. The program provides a “safe and comfortable” environment six days a week that includes physical, occupational and speech therapy; medication management; nutritional services; transportation services; and recreational activities.
