SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Allegiant Air (NASDAQ: ALGT) on Tuesday announced nonstop service from Syracuse Hancock International Airport to Fort Myers / Punta Gorda, Florida beginning Nov. 15.

The flights from Syracuse will land at Punta Gorda Airport.

“We’re very excited to grow again in Syracuse,” Drew Wells, Allegiant VP of planning and revenue, said in a release. “The Syracuse community has been very supportive of Allegiant since we began service here in 2013, and we’re happy to offer area residents the opportunity to enjoy the sunny shores of Southwest Florida.”

The new flights will operate twice weekly. With the addition of this new route, Allegiant will now serve six cities from Syracuse. Flight days, times, and the lowest fares are available at Allegiant.com, the airline said.

“Today we announce Allegiant’s sixth new nonstop market from Syracuse International Airport,” Christina Callahan, executive director of Syracuse Hancock International Airport, said in the Allegiant release. “We have watched Allegiant grow in our community, and serve our customers with affordable, nonstop flights to the places they want to go.”

Allegiant’s service to Punta Gorda “is eligible for the [Syracuse Regional Airport Authority’s] incentive program, which includes a combination of fee waivers and marketing assistance,” Callahan told BJNN in an email.
