ROME — A retailer of electronic cigarettes and a soup kitchen will formally open their doors in Rome on Thursday.
The grand opening of Vapor World will take place at 4:00 p.m. at 223 E. Dominick St. in Rome. The Rome Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee will honor the store owner Muhammad Ali with its First Dollar of Profit Award during the ribbon cutting. Vapor World is Ali’s first business venture, he says. The business sells a variety of electronic cigarettes and is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The grand opening and ribbon cutting for the nonprofit Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen will be held on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the soup kitchen’s home in the basement of the Rome Wesleyan Church at 431 W Court St. in West Rome. The Rome Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee will present a congratulatory award to the executive director, Anthony DeJean, Sr., during the ribbon cutting.
