Destiny to get an IHOP Restaurant late this spring

SYRACUSE — IHOP Restaurant, the family eatery famous for its pancakes, plans to open a location in Destiny USA’s expansion area in late Spring.

IHOP is targeting an opening between mid-May and mid-June, says Rob Schoeneck, general manager of Destiny USA.

The 6,000-square-foot restaurant will seat “a little over 100 people” and be located on the third level of the expansion, next to the 5 Wits adventure attraction and across from the Funny Bone Comedy Club Restaurant, Schoeneck says.

The IHOP at Destiny will be open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. the rest of the week.

IHOP restaurants are franchised and operated by Glendale, Calif.–based International House of Pancakes, LLC and its affiliates, according to the IHOP website. International House of Pancakes, LLC is a subsidiary of DineEquity, Inc. (NYSE: DIN).

As of Sept. 30, 2012, a total of 1,565 IHOPs were in operation across the United States, as well as in Canada, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to the IHOP site.

Locally, IHOP operates an eatery at 4603 E. Genesee St. in DeWitt.
