HTNYS elects Allyn as secretary/treasurer

ALBANY — Eric Allyn, chairman of the board of directors at Auburn Community Hospital, will serve as secretary/treasurer of the board of governors of the Healthcare Trustees of New York State (HTNYS).

HTNYS, an affiliate of the Rensselaer–based Healthcare Association of New York State, made the announcement in a news release this morning.

Besides his role on the boards of the HTNYS and Auburn Community Hospital, Allyn also serves as co-chair of the board of directors at Welch Allyn, Inc., a medical-device manufacturer headquartered in Skaneateles Falls.

Allyn, who will serve a one-year term as secretary/treasurer, wasn’t the only person with ties to Central New York who has responsibilities with the HTNYS board.

The HTNYS board of governors also elected Dr. S. Jan Eberhard, a trustee at Arnot Health in Elmira, as the board chair effective Jan. 1.

The Arnot Health system includes Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital, both in Elmira, and Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital, located in Bath, according to the Arnot Health website.

Healthcare Trustees of New York State says it is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to strengthening the governance of New York’s non-profit and public health- care facilities.

A board of 25 trustees from health-care facilities across the state governs HTNYS, the organization said in its news release.
