CICERO, N.Y. — WYNIT Distribution LLC is moving its headquarters and 68 jobs to Greenville, South Carolina, beginning in early 2016.
The company said 42 jobs would remain in the Syracuse area.
WYNIT operates a divisional headquarters in nearby Piedmont, South Carolina, where it already has 36 employees, according to a news release it issued Thursday.

Launched in 1987, WYNIT Distribution is a distributor of products from brands in the consumer electronics, photo, wide-format printing, security, and outdoor leisure and adventure industries.
All current employees whose jobs the move impacts will have the opportunity to relocate with the business, Pete Richichi, COO of WYNIT Distribution, said in the release.
Moving its headquarters to South Carolina is “one of the toughest decisions” WYNIT has had to make, he contended.
“For a variety of compelling reasons this is the best decision for the company and its employees in the long term. Greenville is a place where we can grow,” said Richichi.
Greenville, located halfway between Atlanta and Charlotte, is home to many international companies and two of WYNIT’s competitors, he added.
WYNIT is relocating its customer service, purchasing, finance, marketing departments, along with its logistics and components of information technology departments.
All sales positions will remain in their current locations in Cicero; Eden Prairie, Minnesota; and Bentonville, Arkansas.
“We considered a lot of factors when moving our offices to Greenville, the biggest was deciding what will help our company grow well into the future,” Geoffrey Lewis, founder and CEO of WYNIT said in the firm’s news release. “We believe Greenville will make WYNIT even more successful for years to come.”
Besides the Cicero jobs, WYNIT is also moving 30 positions from its divisional headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota to South Carolina as well.
The Minnesota office followed WYNIT’s 2014 acquisition of Navarre Distribution, the company said.
