U.S. Navy awards PAR Technology subsidiary a $5.1 million contract

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. — Rome Research Corporation (RRC) will use a $5.1 million contract to operate and maintain the Naval computer and telecommunications station (NCTS) in Jacksonville, Florida.

RRC is a wholly owned subsidiary of New Hartford–based PAR Technology Corp. (NYSE: PAR).

The four-year contract calls for RRC to provide round-the-clock, air-to-ground, high frequency/ultra high frequency, secure and non-secure voice and data communications at the NCTS, according to the company’s news release issued on Tuesday.

RRC’s work supports the Navy’s maritime patrol and reconnaissance force, PAR said.

“We are honored that the Navy has continued to entrust RRC and its dedicated employees with this mission-critical contract,” Ron Casciano, president and CEO of PAR Technology, said in the firm’s news release.

Based in New Hartford, PAR’s government business provides computer-based system design, engineering, and technical services to the U.S. Department of Defense and various federal agencies. The company also sells hardware and software to the hospitality industry.

PAR shares rose 30 cents, or 4.7 percent, to close at $6.69 in Tuesday’s regular trading.
