CICERO, N.Y. — SRC Ventures, Inc. has announced the members of its newly established board of directors.
SRC Ventures is a holding company for SRC, Inc.’s for-profit subsidiaries. SRC, a nonprofit research and development company, is the former Syracuse Research Corp.
SRC Ventures elected board members who include William Pirillo, retired president and CEO, New York State Technology Enterprise Corporation (NYSTEC); Paul Tremont, president of SRC, Inc.; and Marc Viggiano, founder and CEO of Niteopark LLC, according to a news release SRC issued Thursday.

About the members
Pirillo served as the top official for the nonprofit NYSTEC, which has offices in Rome, Albany, and New York City.
Besides the SRC Ventures board, Pirillo also serves on the board for NYSTEC.
Prior to joining NYSTEC, Pirillo was co-founder and president of The Center for Systems Thinking & Innovation, Inc., a training and consulting organization, according to the SRC news release. The Center for Systems Thinking & Innovation, Inc. is located in Oswego.
In addition to his membership on the SRC Ventures board, Tremont is also a member of SRC’s board of trustees, having worked for the organization for more than two decades.
He is also a member of the board of directors of the ESF College Foundation, Inc., which serves the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry; CenterState CEO; NUAIR; and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
NUAIR is short for Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance, a nonprofit coalition of more than 70 private and public entities and academic institutions that operate UAS test ranges in New York, Massachusetts, and Michigan. UAS is short for unmanned-aircraft system, or what is also known as a drone.
Viggiano has 37 years of experience in the design and development of advanced sensor and communication systems and holds “multiple” patents in those areas, according to the SRC news release.
He launched Manlius–based Niteopark, LLC in April 2014, according to his LinkedIn page.
Viggiano in 2014 retired as head of Saab’s Traffic Management business which provides maritime and aviation traffic-management systems to airports and seaports around the globe.
He previously served for two years as CEO of Saab Sensis in DeWitt, according to the SRC news release.

Its for-profit subsidiaries include SRCTec, which offers manufacturing and lifecycle support for complex electronics systems.
They also include Baltimore, Maryland–based FourVSystems, which provides “big data” analytics products that are “scalable and easily customizable to customers’ unique business needs,” the company said.
Another for-profit subsidiary, Gryphon Sensors, LLC, develops sensors and systems for the “safe integration of unmanned-aircraft systems [UAS] into the civilian airspace,” according to an Oct. 8 SRC news release.
