SBA Syracuse district announces 2015 Emerging Leaders class

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse district office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced the participants in the 2015 Emerging Leaders initiative.

The training program, which the SBA describes as “intense,” provides more than 40 hours of advanced-management training.

The SBA “competitively selected” the 19 local business owners participating in this year’s class, the agency said.

The program started last Wednesday, April 22. John Liddy, entrepreneur in residence at Syracuse University, serves as the instructor and conducted the first class of 13 training classes that will continue through November.

Participants will work with mentors and develop connections with other business owners and community leaders over a period of seven months.

Upon graduation, participants will leave the program “with a strategic growth plan for their business, [which they] developed using the knowledge, skills, and techniques honed in the class,” the SBA said.
