Ithaca massage business to formally open new, larger space

ITHACA — Deeply Devoted Massage will formally open its new, bigger studio at 120 E. State St. in Ithaca on Wednesday.

The business, owned by Marcie Leib, moved to the new 1,600-square-foot location, overlooking the Ithaca Commons, last month. The studio is double the size of its former location, and offers added space for four therapy rooms, a reception area, and an open area for classes, seminars, and massage parties, according to a news release from the business.

Leib first opened Deeply Devoted Massage in April 2011 in a single massage room. Since then, the business has doubled its space twice and is approaching 1,000 clients.

Leib sees more room for growth as more consumers learn about the benefits of massage therapy.

“Even here in Ithaca, many see massage as a luxury, rather than a part of their health care plan, Leib said in the release. “At Deeply Devoted Massage, we have worked hard to make high quality massage available at prices most can afford on a regular basis.”

Deeply Devoted Massage will hold a ribbon-cutting event on Wednesday, June 26 at 1 p.m., in conjunction with the Downtown Ithaca Alliance and Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick.
