Giggle Box Playhouse to formally open in Apalachin on July 6

APALACHIN, N.Y. — Giggle Box Playhouse LLC, a Southern Tier early childhood education and daycare center, will formally open on Friday, July 6 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce.

The event will be held at 10 a.m. at Giggle Box Playhouse at 31 Barton Road in Apalachin, according to a news release from the chamber of commerce.

Giggle Box’s Facebook page indicates that it opened in late April. This came after the property was reconstructed and updated to ensure age-appropriate learning and play space for the children, the release stated.

Giggle Box is a New York State-licensed daycare facility, certified in CPR, first-aid training, and early childhood education. Jes Jobmann is the business owner.

Giggle Box cares for up to 42 children and maintains a teacher/student ratio of 1 to 8, according to the website of Care.com, which calls itself the world’s largest online destination for care, connecting families with caregivers.

The daycare center is open Monday through Friday — 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. — offering individual classrooms to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children 4-6 years of age. During the summer, Giggle Box Playhouse also offers a “Summer Camp” program for children, registered for Kindergarten age 4 through age 8, for a rate of $155 per week. The summer program offers “creative learning, arts and crafts, music and literacy, walking field trips to [nearby] Muth Park, cooking and gardening activities, as well as water fun days and field days,” according to the release.
