SYRACUSE — Tops Friendly Markets has scheduled a grand opening for next week at a new location on Syracuse’s North Side.
The new Tops grocery store is opening in a building formerly occupied by Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. The store had been known as the Pond Street Wegmans before the Rochester–based grocer closed it in June. However, Tops is now labeling it with the address of 700 First North St.
Williamsville–based Tops will hold the store’s grand opening at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The company’s president and CEO, Frank Curci, will be attending, as will Syracuse mayor Stephanie Miner.
