OSWEGO — The State University of New York (SUNY) Oswego Phoenix Center will host a series of five workshops on winning government contracts starting Oct. 23.
“Government contracting could make a huge impact for a small business,” Tammy Anderson, contract manager at the SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center, said in a news release. “Once people know where to look and understand the process, the potential for new business can be great. The problem is that the process can seem so immense and, quite frankly, the majority of people are intimidated by it.”
Less than 5 percent of businesses in the U.S. work with the federal government, despite about $1 billion in new opportunities made available for bid each day, according to SUNY Oswego.

The workshops will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. weekly beginning Oct. 23. Individual sessions cost $40. The cost for all five is $150.
